Insanity Max30 Week 1 Results

WEEK 1 UPDATE:

I want to let you in on a little secret…I absolutely hate cardio!  Too strong?  lol  My favorites have always been strength training so it completely took me by surprise when I said yes I will do Insanity Max30 with you.  About 10 seconds after I committed I was trying to come up with ANY excuse/reason that would get me out of it.

But, then my coach made a video talking about committing to yourself.  She asked if when you give your word on something does it really mean anything or does  everyone know that sooner or later you are going to go back on what you said?

In the past my word didn’t really stand for anything. I broke commitments with other people, I broke them with myself.  I would start something with the best intentions but soon I would give myself a hundred reasons of why it was okay for me to stop.

I don’t want to be known for that.  I want my yes to be yes and my no to be no.  I want people to know that when I say something it is going to happen.  I want to know that when I commit to something I am going to finish and not give up on myself.

So I decided that I was going to do Insanity Max30 to the BEST of my ability.  I told myself that this is the beginning of something new for me.  That I was going to put myself first and that meant not backing out on this.

I started my Insanity Max30 journey while I was visiting my daughter in Wichita.  I know, I know.  Starting something like this while on vacation may not have been the smartest thing but I didn’t want to give myself time to think about this. 🙂  So I jumped right in.

Imagine my surprise to find out that I am actually LOVING this program!  ❤  It is 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week. I have completed 8 days so far and I am already seeing results.  Not just in a physical transformation but also in my endurance.  On day 1 I did Cardio Challenge and maxed out at 8:31. Seven days later I did the same workout and doubled my time.  I maxed out today at 17:35! Woot!  Woot!  Yep I am excited about that!

What do I mean by maxed out?  It simply means that I pushed as hard as I could for as long as I could. When I got to the point that I had to stop, well that is my maxed out time.

I am happy to admit that I have completed EVERY workout so far and I am drinking shakeology EVERY day for breakfast.  Today I stepped on the scale and took my measurements.   So far I have lost 2.2 lbs and 11.75 inches!  ❤  That is in one week!

To say that I am happy with my results would be an understatement.  My stomach is starting to shrink, my mindset is already different and my performance has increased.  I would say that is a triple win for me.  Changes are in the making and I am pushing on!  I am ready to be victorious with week 2! ❤

Country Heat…Disappointed?

The last thirty days have flown by. I admit that when I first started Country Heat I was a little disappointed. 😒coach

The group that I am in with Autumn Calabrese was starting Chisel from Hammer and Chisel. I love that program and had been very excited to do it at the same time that Autumn was doing it.

I was so angry that I couldn’t but I knew that just having surgery on my wrist and elbow, well there was absolutely no way I was going to be able to lift weights.country-heat

I could have used my surgery as an excuse to stop. I could have used my disappointment at not being able to do Hammer and Chisel as an excuse to stop. BUT I DIDN’T.

I knew I had limitations so I just found something that worked for me. Country Heat. At first I danced with my arm in a sling to keep it steady, then I got to the point where I would let my arm down and just do they foot movements now I do it all.

So if you want to know if you can lose weight and tone up when you have to modify even a dance program…well come back in two days when I share my results.

Until then get moving! 🙂 Even if it is walking around your living room. Or turn the radio on and dance like no one
is watching.

Country Heat Week 3 Progress

I have been told repeatedly that with hypothyroidism I will not be able to lose weight easily.  I should just give up and live a happy life obese.  Yes, it is a struggle but I am not giving up.

If there is no progress there is no struggle.

The struggle is real, I have to fight for every ounce and every inch that comes off and believe me I have been.  BUT I have NEVER had so much fun doing it!

I am on week 3 of Country Heat with just one more week until my final results.  You can bet your bottom dollar that I will be kicking it up this week. 🙂

Last week I continued to follow the deluxe workout schedule for Country Heat.  Every day that I was schedule to work out I pushed play.  I even started working out first thing in the morning instead of waiting when I have more energy.  This made a huge difference in my workouts.  I am no longer exhausted before I even lace up the sneakers.

I am very proud of my results so far.  I just had surgery almost four weeks ago so I was limited on what I was able to do with the arm movements at first. But that hasn’t stopped me.  I am kicking up my cowgirl boots and having a hootenanny good time!  ❤week-3-front

Here are my weight and measurements from when I started on December 26  and what they are now.

  • Weight     then…190, now…185.4
  • Left Bicep   then…12.5, now…11.5
  • Right Bicep   then…12.5, now 11.25

I have lost a total of 4.6 lbs and 13.25 inches in 3 weeks!  I still have ONE week left in this program.  I am so excited for this last week.  🙂week-3-back

Country Heat Week 1 Results

About a week ago I was faced with trying to figure out how I could work out while recovering from surgery. The program that I had scheduled to do required lifting weights and I knew that wasn’t going to work.

Last July when I went to Nashville for the Beachbody Summit I had purchased Country Heat, I had even tried it a few times but actually never did more than a few days of it. So I thought that now was the perfect time to complete this program. Thirty days of dancing, no weights, no planks or pushups. Perfect right?

I admit that the first time I pushed play I made the mistake of not wearing my sling and my hand and fore arm went completely numb. This seriously scared the crap out of me. My son was not impressed with my desire to keep pushing play. But I promised that I would wear my sling next time and if I was still having issues I would put it off for a week.

With the sling I had not problems and could actually complete the 30 minute workout. My first week consisted of me working out with a sling and using the 21 Day Fix containers.

I was not very graceful with these workouts and had a lot of balance issues. I have two left feet. I wasn’t able to jump around and did not do any of the arm movements for the first week. I was sweating a lot so I did have hopes that maybe I would get some results. I was completely surprised when I took my measurements.

In 7 days I lost 2 lbs and 6 1/2 inches. Not bad. 🙂

I admit that there have been a couple of times when I did not want to push play. I wasn’t feeling it. But the ladies in my accountability groups keep me going. The motivation and support from them is amazing.

Core De Force…the Results are In!

The first time I tried this mixed martial arts program was in Nashville last July.  We only did about 10 minutes, if that, on a hot Saturday morning on Broadway.  Yup on Broadway, over 25,000 Beachbody coaches working out first thing on a hot summer day.  It was magical!  One of the best parts as my daughter was standing beside me on that main street in front of some saloons and tourist shops. ❤

When I first tried this workout I honestly thought I would never be able to do it.  But I made a commitment with some other women to get it done and boy did we.  Was I perfect during the last 30 days?  Not really.  There were times when I ate what I shouldn’t, my emotional eating got the best of me a few times.  There were times when I didn’t work out as hard as I should have, I have a pelvic organ prolapse so I had to be careful working out.  Sometimes it would hurt a lot so I had to make sure to modify like crazy.

Even with not being perfect during this round, I had so much fun!  Joel and Jericho are amazing and kept me motivated.  Doing a challenge group especially for Core De Force challengers kept me motivated.  a-start

Another thing that motivated me to keep going was when I posted about my journey on instagram.  I was so excited because Joel and Jericho BOTH liked my post.  Don’t ask me why but that meant so much to me.  Knowing that they were actually watching, well there was just NO way that I was going to give up at any time during this program.

What made this time different?  I had given up back in August.  My son had left for basic training. I was worried about him and my worry had a lot of calories. I started having health issues about the end of September.  More calories.  I failed myself because I let my emotions get the best of me.

Then October came and I was able to go with my husband, my daughter and my son’s girlfriend to watch him graduate from Fort Benning basic training.  He did it!  And we celebrated!  And we enjoyed our time together around a table.  And I kept thinking, I am on my FIRST vacation with my husband in 25 years, and I am going to enjoy it.  I will watch what I eat and workout when I get home.

Well, needless to say, I gained  a lot of weight back.  Self sabotage really stinks!

I knew the programs work. I knew that I could follow it and get healthy.  I knew I could do this.  BUT the most important was my mind change.  I was tired of feeling like a failure even though I have been working out and trying to eat healthy for the last few years.  I was tired of starting over.  So I knew I had to put my best foot forward and kick some butt with this one.  Knock it out of the ball park type of thing.

So here are my results…not the greatest…but it is a start.  I have to keep remembering that this is a journey not a destination.

From November 12th to December 11th:

Chest…..41 inches then…..39.5 inches now

Left Arm….12 inches then…..10.75 inches now

Right Arm…..12.5 inches then…..11.5 inches now

Waist…..38.75 inches then…..37.5 inches now

Hips…..42.5 inches then…..41.25 inches now

I LOST 9.25 inches and 2.2 lbs!  Yup I am happy with that month.  I could be hung up on what the scale says and think only 2.2 lbs in  weeks?  But then I remember that the scale does not define me.  Then I look at the inches lost and I think dang that’s awesome.

I am doing a round of the 21 Day Fix now.  I am on day 10 of 21.  I didn’t take any time off between the programs. Why?  Because I don’t want to lose any of the momentum that I have going for me now.

3 Day Refresh Results

Struggling with my nutrition has always been my down fall. So I decided before I had my surgery to get it under control. I needed something that would help me with my sugar cravings and my binge eating.

I started the 3 Day Refresh on December 1st and I am so happy with my results. I NEVER felt hungry. I actually had a hard time eating all of the food I was allowed. it was probably because of the shakes and the water I was drinking. Oh my. 🙂

So in three days I lost 3.4 lbs and 4 inches. I couldn’t be happier with those results. But the best thing is that I am not craving today. I stuck to my meal plan 100% and even did two workouts tonight.

I am finishing up my last week of Core De Force and have started a new group called Your Fit Journey with Autumn Calabrese. This group has OVER 28.000 members. WOW!!!! The motivation in this group in insane! 🙂 We are starting the 21 Day Fix today and OH MY doing both workouts was killer!

I am going to be starting a free fitness group soon. If you have a gym membership that your not using. If you have a beachbody program that is collecting dust. If you have a treadmill that is being used to hang your laundry…well dust it off and let’s get going.

3 Day Refresh Day 1 Review

Yesterday was the beginning of a 3 day journey for me.  With my surgery coming up I admit that I have been worrying about losing the progress that I refreshhave fought so hard for.  I mean, with having hypothyroid it is hard enough to lose weight and get toned up, so this is just one extra part that I wasn’t counting on this winter.  I figured if I wasn’t going to be able to work out without a lot of modifications then I would at least make sure my eating was on point.

The 3 Day Refresh is a great way to kick start a healthier lifestyle.  To make a clean break from bad eating habits. This isn’t a starvation or an all liquid fast.  It is low on calories, about 900 a day.  It is packed with protein and giver, so while I will be nourishing my body I will not be going hungry. 🙂  So how does it work?

Here is what my day looked like.

I woke up at 2 am and drank 12 ounces of water to get my system going. I didn’t wake up that early for this refresh, I had to be at work by 4am so it was a very early start for me.15356099_10206363784288413_2022362648_n

I ate breakfast at 3am.  My breakfast yesterday was a cafe latte shakeology and a banana.

I had a cup of green tea at 4:30 with stevia.  I usually have a coffee so this was a little different for me.  I really missed my pumpkin coffee.

At 7:30 I drank some water and I was supposed to drink a fiber sweep drink.  Unfortunately I had no idea what I did with it so I just drank another cafe latte shakeology.

Lunch was around 11:30.  I had a Vanilla Fresh shake, a banana and a cucumber with a little bit of avocado.

When I got home from work I had a pumpkin chai tea which was delicious.

My husband didn’t realize that I had started a 3 day refresh today so he had cooked me some supper. I had steamed broccoli but I also had a few bites of deer tenderloin.  He got his deer on Thanksgiving and had been waiting to eat the tenderloin.  I felt bad with telling him I couldn’t eat it so I had a few bites.

I fell asleep shortly after.  Between always being tired from my thyroid and getting up at 2am, I was exhausted.  My first day wasn’t exactly what it should have been.  In all honesty I shouldn’t have had the deer tenderloin and I really meant to workout.  But I can admit that I did not feel hungry all day and I also didn’t have any cravings.

I woke up this morning with a slight headache but I feel pretty good otherwise. The scale says I have lost 1.8 lbs already.  This isn’t all about the weight loss but that is definitely a help too. 🙂 I have today off and all of my meals are already planned.  I am also planning on doing a Core De Force workout today too.
